Distance Education in India




Distance education in India has seen a tremendous growth and many students are opting for the correspondence courses and the learning through distance education universities. The distance learning program and courses offered by the universities are increasingly becoming popular as this type of distance education offer courses at a much reasonable fees as compared to the regular courses.




In this type of Indian distance education, one can study online and/or sometimes, there are various study centers who offer private coaching to the university distance learning programs. The classes are held 3-5 times a week and the students can have many benefits. There is no need for the students to go to the respective university campus which usually corresponds from a different state, thus distance education.

If you want to enroll in any of these courses or programs offered by these distance learning institutes or universities in India , you can do so by knowing the respective study centre of the university in your area or state and submitting the required documents and fees. Although, you must check the accreditation of these distance learning universities before enrolling.

The accreditation of these distance learning universities and the courses offered by them are generally done through the central govt. controlled university Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
