Conservation of Sloth Bear


Habitat loss, illegal capture, large scale hunting, etc landed this species in deep crisis. In order to protect the population of Sloth Bear, the government of India has taken active measures. Wildlife (Protection) Act, Wildlife Trust of India (WTI), World Society for Protection of Animals (WSPA), Integrated Sloth Bear Conservation and Welfare Project (ISBCW), etc are jointly working for the conservation of this species.
