Largest democracy of world

India is the largest democracy and the world's seventh-largest country, covering more than 3 million square kilometers, and in terms of population, it is second only to China and projected to get the top slot by the year 2030. India is home to 16% of the world's population and accounts for 2.42 per cent of the total world area.

Multilingual, Multicultural India

There are 28 states and 7 Union Territories in India. Some of the major cities are New Delhi (the capital of India), Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad. The national Indian language is Hindi but English is commonly used for official purposes. With its multilingual, multicultural and culturally rich heritage, as many as 1600 dialects are spoken in India alone when compared it with the languages spoken in the entire world. It is being said for India that dialect changes every 8-10 kilometer.


A Secular state

Being a secular country India has no particular state religion and people from all major religions co exist peacefully in India. The constitution of India gives its citizens the rights to profess and propagate any religion. Hinduism is the main religion which consists of 80% of the total population along with some of the more important religions like Islam, Christianity, Sikhism, Buddhism and Jainism. It is no doubt when people say that there is a festival for every month of the year in India.


A Union of States

India, often called "a Union of States", is a sovereign Socialist Secular Democratic Republic with a parliamentary system of government. The Republic is governed and controlled in terms of the Indian Constitution. The Constitution of India is federal in structure with unitary features. It has a multiparty democracy with a bi-cameral legislature.

The 5th largest economy in the world in terms of purchasing power parity with a GDP of over US $ 1 trillion is none other than India, and it is the second largest amongst the emerging developing economies of the world. Currency of India is known as "Rupees".

Great India

India is everything human. The most difficult of places to travel in the world, and also the most rewarding is a trip to India. India is the best show on earth, the best a human can experience in a lifetime. There are 330 million gods in India.
