Dasara Celebrations

Dasara is a very important Indian festival and is celebrated throughout the country. It has won worldwide acclaim and recognition. Each region has its own unique celebrations. Dasara celebrations in Mysore is the hallmark of the Dasara festivities in the state of Karnataka. Dasara is celebrated in Delhi with great enthusiasm in the Ramlila Maidan where huge effigies of Ravana, Kumbhkaran and Meghnad are burnt signifying Ravana’s defeat in the hands of Rama and also signifying the victory of good over evil. A lot of people or tourists travel via Bangalore to attend the Dasara or Vijayadashami festival of Mysore. To improve connectivity and facilitate the participation in the Mysore Dushera, the state authorities of Maharashtra have also offered special flight packages and improved railway services from Pune. These kinds of initiatives have also been noticed from other major Indian cities such as Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai.
