Delhi to Lucknow Tejas Express Booking, Fare, Time Table



One of the premium trains by Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), Delhi Lucknow Tejas Express is set to run from October 4. This is the first train to be entirely run by IRCTC, a railway subsidiary. Delhi-Lucknow Tejas Express will run six days a week, except Tuesdays. The train's fare will be 50% less than that of flights on the same route.

Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has released the full running time table of its soon to be operated Tejas Express train along the Delhi-Lucknow route. This is the Delhi to Lucknow Tejas Express route time table:

Delhi to Lucknow Tejas Express Timings - Depart from Lucknow Junction at 6.50 a.m. (train number 12585) and reach New Delhi at 1.35 p.m. On the return journey, (train number 12586) it will leave from New Delhi at 3.35 p.m. to arrive in Lucknow Junction at 10.05 p.m.

The Tejas Express will be run by a private operator which would be selected via a bidding process and the train is expected to be launched in the first week of October during the Navratri 2019 October. The train will be flagged off by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Passengers who wish to travel on Tejas Express can make booking through IRCTC official website and the IRCTC rail connect mobile app. 
Bookings can be made upto 60 days in advance on Delhi-Lucknow Tejas Express.
Tejas Express online booking can also be made via Paytm, Phone Pe, Makemytrip, Google, Ibibo, Rail Yatri. 
Tejas Express train will not be available for booking at railway reservation counters.
No concessions, privileges or duty passes will be permitted on these trains. Children of age 5 years and above will be charged full fare.
Delhi to Lucknow Tejas Express fare will follow dynamic rule, earlier started for trains like Rajdhani and Shatabdi. Different fares will be there for lean, busy and festive seasons. The Tejas Express fares will be around 50% less than the price of flight tickets on the same route even during the peak season.
One AC chair car coach of 78 seats of Delhi to Lucknow Tejas Express, will be available for bulk booking on first cum first served basis. This coach can be booked any time from the opening of booking and up to 3 days in advance of the departure of the train as per IRCTC statement.
Tejas train won't have any quota for passengers. Only foreign passengers can avail the quotas and 5 executie classs along with 50 AC chair car seat will be there for foreign travellers.
This is the first time that for Tejas Express, pick and drop facility of luggage from homes of passengers is provided. Also, passengers travelling in business or executive class can avail special lounge facilities at the railway stations. 
Tejas Express passengers can book hotel booking, flight booking, taxi/cab booking and porters through online portal which would make the travel easier. A passenger needs to spend some additional money in order to get these facilities.
A high-class catering service would be given on Delhi-Lucknow Tejas Express trains. For breakfast, Corn-flakes, fruit salads etc are expected to be given.
Passengers boarding Tejas Express will also be given a free insurance of Rs 25 lakh by IRCTC. 
The rail passengers will be given Rail Neer water and the coaches will have additional RO water facility.


Delhi-Lucknow Tejas Express Ticket cancellation and refund rules:

If a passenger cancels ticket up to 4 hours before the scheduled departure of the train, Rs.25 will be deducted as a clerkage charge and the balance will be refunded online. Indian Railways deduct Rs.65 per passenger as clerkage from AC class passengers in such case.
If your wait-listed ticket is cancelled by IRCTC if no seats available in the train, full amount will be refunded. No extra charge will be deducted.
If a partially confirmed ticket is cancelled after chart preparation and up to 30 minutes before scheduled departure of the train, full ticket amount will be refunded.

The Tejas Express will offer premium services and comforts to the passengers. The train will have aircraft-like personalised LCD entertainment-cum-information screens, on-board Wi- Fi facility, comfortable seats, mobile charging points, personalised reading lights, modular bio-toilets and sensor tap fittings.

The Tejas Express seats will have an orange and yellow colour scheme matching the exteriors of the train. It will also have Anti-graffiti vinyl wrapping and a swanky mini pantry. The gangways will be dust-sealed and automatic connecting doors as well as entry and exit doors will be the other features of the train.

Lucknow-Delhi route is served by 53 trains including the Swarn Shatabdi presently.
